Questions You Should Ask Us AND Our Competitors Before Booking a Photo Booth

Not all photo booths are created equal and when you're planning a wedding, quinceañera, corporate event, or milestone celebration, choosing the right photo booth company involves more than comparing prices.

At Inclusive Entertainment, home of Patty's Pix Photo Booth, we encourage clients to ask questions not just of us, but of our competitors, too.

Why? Because the cheapest option isn't always the best value, and the most expensive doesn't necessarily mean the highest quality.

Some companies advertise luxury experiences while using basic equipment. Others offer attractive starting prices but charge extra for features you assumed were included.

We believe an informed client makes a better decision. So, before you book your next photo booth rental in Phoenix or anywhere in Arizona, here are eight questions worth asking.

1. What Equipment Are You Using, and Can I See the Actual Photos?

A beautiful photo booth doesn't automatically produce beautiful photographs.

Some booths use iPads with ring lighting, while others use DSLR cameras with professional studio flashes. Both have their place, but they deliver different results.

We've even seen DSLR booths advertised without proper flash lighting, which defeats much of the purpose of investing in a professional camera.

Our advice? Ask to see photos FROM the booth, not just photos OF the booth.

Don't rely solely on edited Instagram reels. Ask for actual images delivered to guests. Have the company text you a sample, zoom in, and look for blurry faces, harsh shadows, or poor lighting.

If prints are important, ask what printer they use. At Patty's Pix, we use professional dye-sublimation printers capable of producing photographs in approximately 20 seconds.

Also, take a look at the backdrop. Our professional eight-foot tension backdrops are opaque and designed to photograph smooth, without visible piping or distracting backgrounds.

Here's something we encourage that not every company does: Come try our booth before booking!  Visit us at a public pop-up, inspect our equipment, take a photograph, and see the results for yourself.

2. What's Actually Included in the Quoted Price?

A $300 photo booth rental might sound like a bargain until you discover the backdrop, props, attendant, custom overlay, text delivery, and online gallery all cost extra.

There's nothing wrong with offering optional upgrades, but clients should know exactly what they're purchasing.

At Patty's Pix, we don't offer cookie-cutter packages. Instead, we ask questions about your event, budget, and expectations before building a customized proposal.

We account for the equipment, attendants, power, backdrops, props, post-event gallery, and other features needed to deliver your selected experience.

We also offer specialty prints, keychains, magnets, guestbooks, and other personalized keepsakes.

Your invoice shouldn't unexpectedly increase because of something you assumed was included. With us, additional charges come from services, keepsakes, or operating hours you choose to add, not the basics that are needed to complete your event.

Always ask for a clear explanation of what's included and what costs extra before signing.

3. Who Will Actually Be Operating My Event?

You may spend weeks communicating with a business owner, only to discover someone you've never met is operating your photo booth.

Some companies subcontract or "white label" their bookings, meaning another vendor fulfills the service. This isn't necessarily a problem, but clients deserve transparency.

At Inclusive Entertainment, on the rare occasion that a trained member of our team will operate your event instead of us personally, we tell you before booking.  Our team members are familiar with our equipment and standards, and we're available to support them remotely when needed. They are members of our team, not another company.

Experience with your specific type of event matters, too.

School dances require consideration for younger guests and different heights. Weddings demand careful timing, so the booth doesn't disrupt important moments or open after older guests have left. Corporate events may require specialized branding, deliverables, or guest-data considerations.

Ask how many events the company has completed, whether they've worked your type of celebration, and who will be responsible for your experience.

4. What Happens When Something Goes Wrong?

Arizona weather doesn't always cooperate with event plans.

We've worked through extreme heat, pouring rain, unexpected power outages, and last-minute emergencies.

We've rearranged operating times to avoid storms, relocated a booth inside a horse stable to keep an event going, and continued operating during power outages thanks to our battery-powered equipment.

We've even had trained team members step in once when illness prevented us from attending personally.

At Inclusive Entertainment, we maintain multiple booths that can serve as backup equipment when necessary, and we're prepared to troubleshoot problems on-site.

Of course, no company can guarantee that every unexpected situation will have an immediate solution. Safety always comes first.

Experience isn't just knowing how to operate a photo booth. It's knowing how to respond when the original plan falls apart.

Ask your vendor about backup equipment, power failures, weather contingencies, and what happens if an attendant becomes unavailable.

5. Can Everyone at My Event Participate?

Accessibility is something many clients don't think to ask about, but it matters.

At Patty's Pix, all our booths can be adjusted in height and angle to accommodate wheelchair users and guests of different heights.

We also recognize that not everyone feels comfortable stepping in front of a camera.

Some guests need extra time, reassurance, or several retakes. That's perfectly fine with us.

We've even invited nervous guests to help operate the booth so they can understand the process before participating themselves.

We don't rush someone simply because they need a little more patience.

A great photo booth experience should make every guest feel welcome, not just those who can easily step into the frame.

Ask potential vendors how they accommodate guests with different physical abilities and comfort levels.

6. What Happens to My Photos and My Guests' Information?

When your guests provide their phone numbers to receive photographs, they expect pictures, not a marketing campaign.

At Patty's Pix, we don't use guest phone numbers or email addresses for promotional messages, special offers, or unsolicited follow-ups.

Guests only receive their own photographs, while the complete event gallery is only shared through a link provided to the client. We don't ordinarily enable guest-wide browsing of the entire gallery unless specifically requested.

We also ask clients for permission before sharing event content on our social media.

That's why you won't see recaps from every event we work, and why we're especially mindful about sharing photographs of children and guests whose privacy deserves additional consideration.

Our social media is our professional portfolio, not an opportunity to chase viral attention at someone else's expense.

We also avoid placing our logos across your photo templates. Instead, our contact information appears discreetly on the back of printed photographs.

The front of your keepsake should celebrate your event, not advertise our business.

We've had families contact us for photographs after losing a loved one who attended an event. Those experiences remind us that the images we capture may become treasured family memories.

Ask who can access your photographs, whether they may be used for advertising, and how guest contact information is handled.

7. Are You Insured, and What Do Your Reviews Really Say?

Before hiring a photo booth company, ask whether it carries business liability insurance and can provide documentation when required by your venue.

Inclusive Entertainment is a registered Arizona LLC and carries business insurance.

You should also review cancellation policies, payment terms, and any non-refundable fees before signing a contract.

We currently don't require upfront deposits for our standard bookings, and payment is due at the time of service. We understand that trusting a vendor with money months before an event can feel uncomfortable.

Another important consideration is reputation.

Don't just count five-star reviews, read the stories behind them.

Do clients describe reliability, professionalism, flexibility, and how the company handles unexpected problems?

We ask our clients for honest Google reviews without offering compensation or incentives. Some of our most meaningful reviews describe how we adapted when weather wasn't cooperating or went the extra mile to support an event.

We'd rather earn our reputation through actual client experiences than paid awards or recognition.

8. Can You Work With My Vision AND My Budget?

This might be our favorite question because we wish more clients felt comfortable asking it.

Don't be afraid to tell us what you really want and what you can afford.

If you've always wanted personalized photo keychains at your wedding, tell us!

If you have a firm budget, tell us that, too.

We don't mind revisiting a proposal several times to find the right balance between your expectations and your budget.

Sometimes that means removing extras. Other times, it means exploring creative options you didn't realize were available.

If budget isn't a major concern, we'd love to share some of our more unique experiences and keepsakes with you as well.  A generous budget isn't an invitation for us to inflate your invoice, it's an opportunity to explore possibilities that might be the perfect fit for your celebration.

Our goal isn't to sell you the most expensive package. It's to help you create an experience that's worth what you spend.

The Bottom Line: Hire the Experience, Not Just the Equipment

A great photo booth experience is about much more than a camera and a backdrop.

It's the quality of the photographs, the professionalism of the attendants, the reliability of the equipment, the appearance of the setup, and how your guests are treated.

Whether you're considering Patty's Pix or another Phoenix photo booth company, we encourage you to ask these questions, compare actual work, and make an informed decision.

At Inclusive Entertainment, we welcome the comparison.

We want you to feel confident that you're getting the quality, reliability, and value your event deserves.
